The summer show season is in full gear, and if you were paying attention back in April you'll have already applied to shows (and been accepted - yay!) and begun working on your display. You may even be heading to a show this weekend.
Here are some last-minute tips on how to wow 'em at the event.
First impression is everything.
Stray from the ordinary when designing your display. For some unwritten reason, everyone at a craft fair uses white tablecloths and canopies. So many booths of the same color make people glaze over them. They see them as a continuum instead of individual places to shop. By choosing a tablecloth or canopy color that matches your brand, you’ll stand out from the white crowd.
Let your name be heard (or seen).
Invest in a banner with your logo. A well-designed banner will catch your customer’s eye and give her an idea of what you sell.
Be friendly.
Nothing turns people off more than a seller who ignores them. Smile and say hello, crack a joke, make them feel welcome. Take pride in telling shoppers about your work.
Give Them a Deal
A person who buys from you at a fair is more likely to be a repeat customer if they have a reason to return. Give out a card with a discount code or throw in a small item when you bag their purchase, such as a note card or sticker.
Take business cards. Lots of them.
These are so important because it might be the only way potential customers can find you again once they leave your booth.
Bring food and drink. And maybe a friend!
Let’s face it; fairs are long. Having a partner will not only keep you sane and cheerful, but will improve your customer’s experience.
