I am thrilled to report that one of the most amazing fashion design mentors in the Denver community, Lisa Elstun of LRE Couture, has just launched her latest and greatest collection called Sutra by Ellery! The kick off for this new line was at a block party featuring over a dozen designers at both Studio Sweet Marie and Kitty Mae’s Millinery. There was so much going on between the two of these side-by-side shops that it makes me grin ear-to-ear just thinking about it!
This was a fantastic night to buy gifts for yourself and for those that appreciate local handmade designs. The showstopper for me, of course with that intro, was the line of elegant, refashioned fabrics and vintage clothing that was hot off the press by LRE Couture called Sutra by Ellery. Sutra by Ellery was developed to introduce the fashion scene to LRE’s Couture’s custom designs for real women with real curves, including unique wedding gowns, mothers and bridal party dresses as well as business attire. If that isn’t cool enough, they contribute a portion of the proceeds to the DDI, which is dedicated to providing resources, education and professional development to enhance and support a thriving, profitable and sustainable fashion industry
Can you believe that this elegant gown designed by Lisa was once a turtleneck and ugly bridesmaid dress?
To give you a keyhole into the night’s events, guests enjoyed sips and tastes while dresses and wedding gowns were informally modeled.
Studio Sweet Marie, is located on the corner of the dressiest block in RiNo right next door to Kitty Mae’s Millinery & Accessories, making it easy to support local designers and express an attitude with unique artistic clothing, jewelry and hats at this 1st Friday block party! Designers were on hand to discuss their products, help create the perfect look or select the perfect gift with the Colorado flair.

For Capelets and Scarves, Kimono Dragons, Ali Pate, and Carol Garnand stepped up to the plate for some great gift ideas and designs.
All-in-all, it was a fabulous evening full of style and great local designers. You can follow both studios' updates and events on either Kitty Mae Millinery's Facebook page or Studio Sweet Marie's Facebook page.
That’s all for now reporting from snowy Colorado!
