Indie Inspiration: Get Moving!

You've been there: The feeling of the looming deadline.
Scratching your brain endlessly to come up with the next great story or product in the collection‚ but to no avail. You're stuck. If you're lucky enough, you'll be struck by inspiration like a muse in a classical painting. But if not, well, that's where this column comes in: Going through different activities, you'll learn how to get those creative juices flowing again.





Last weekend we rolled out a new theme, Austin. It's a 960px wide theme with main navigation as a set of tabs above the content, and secondary navigation on the right side in subtle blocks. The default color scheme is light and airy, and we think it looks great.
Your website content is all about you and your products. But it’s important to remove yourself from the equation and consider your audience when you are writing, photographing, tagging and describing everything on your site.
I'm hanging out in Virginia right now, and in spite of earthquakes and hurricanes it's been a wonderful time. I've been checking out the indie scene, and it's clear that VA has a lot of very creative folks. Below are three brick and mortar shops that highlight the work of VA artists and makers.
